![]() First off, With ease: You can make your own account any time you want, and with no strings attached. This is one of the few games that you can play, with ease, for free, and with endless hours of game-play. With these games, you'll have to look past what the game doesn't have, but look at what it does have, which is a list that can go on for quite a while. I can understand that people don't really like this game because it has: -no story, -bad graphics, -no character development, etc. English isn't my first language and I can't put my train of thought together properly when writing long reviews but I hope you understood me and have decided whether you should play this game or not. IF you get addicted you will easily sink more than 500 hours worth of gameplay in it, or hell even more if you stick with it as it's updated every week. Either wait out for Legacy mode (old combat system along with the new one, easily being able to toggle between them) or you can play 2007scape to relive the old days. ![]() For the people that prefer the old combat system fear not, you have 2 choices. The community is decent if you look in the right places so that's not a big deal and also the Jagex employee's interact a lot on websites such as Reddit or the official forums. The game's combat is constantly changing and although that's not such a bad thing, it can affect you a lot at higher levels. The game does have it's bugs although they are either minor or quickly repaired. There are few Microtransactions in the game, most of them cosmetic and the others not too game breaking although they do give a small advantage to someone that buys them. Training your skills can be quite repetitive, yes but in the end it's worth the hours spend on grinding as you can access better content and of course more quests. Unfortunately, to get anywhere in this game you need to grind. Just go on youtube and search for either "Memories of Guthix" or "Nightmare at the Cradle", to fully appreciate the music one should do the quests tied to them. I feel like I should dedicate a whole paragraph to the music. There's an HTML5 beta currently which makes the game look very pretty. To accompany the beautiful quests, the graphics have been updated to look really great. Sadly many players choose to skip the dialogue and ignore the plot, which in my opinion shouldn't be done as RuneScape has some of the best story telling and lore I have ever experienced in any game so far, recently quests have their own voice-overs. The story telling in the quests is magnificent, the lore is also very very well written and there's actually quite a few likable characters. The past 2 or so years, RuneScape's lore has been becoming much more relevant. The other guy here mentioned that there's no story and character development - with that I disagree. The combat now feels much more alive, an action bar along with abilities have entered the game, making bossing much more interactive and fun as well as player killing (although many disagree). ![]() The combat has been completely revamped as well as the interface (you can now fully customize it) and depending on how far back you've played RuneScape, the graphics as well. Some say it's for the worst, some say it's for the best myself included. First of all, the RuneScape you knew before 2012 has changed. But I am here to hopefully convince you that it's not and also explain my 8/10 rating. Now then, RuneScape has a reputation of being a "childish" or perhaps "bad" game. I am still playing this game and I can safely say it's better than back then. I kept playing and playing, on and off sometimes but still being really active. Then inevitably like every game the craze died, everyone suddenly stopped playing RuneScape at my school and my friends moved to other games. ![]() This game was really, really addictive, I was playing for hours without end just to get higher levels than my friends I couldn't stop. I got introduced to RuneScape by a friend in High School, I have of course heard of it before but never decided to give it a try until my friend convinced me to. I started playing in 2007, many consider it late, but if I'm not mistaken that was the year that RuneScape had the most subscribed members, bots or not doesn't matter it was popular as hell. Discuss your favorite titles, find a new one to play or share the game you developed.I believe every gamer has heard of or even played RuneScape sometime in their life. ![]()
